The work for this exhibition centers around different scenarios of existential crises and the feelings of anxiety, vulnerability and doubt that inevitably stems thereof. The South-African landscape serves as inspiration and backdrop for the portrayal of these small dramas.
In general, Liekie's work dwells on the boundaries between dream and reality, past and future as well as nature and imagination.
Liekie Fouché spent the formative years of her life on a farm in the North-Western province and the landscapes of her childhood as well as the feelings of isolation they inspired still have a profound influence on her work as an artist.
