Kyle Jardine works in a contemporary pop art style. His work is influenced by pop culture and references elements and influences from African and international fashion, trends and culture. He explores aspects of modern ways of life in the use of subject matter and a luminescent palette, all wrapped up with a sense of charm and naivety that invites the viewer into a playful, intricately detailed and comical world.
Kyle Jardine is a born and bred Capetonian, who qualified with a film degree and licentiate in musical theatre. He has worked extensively as a performer both locally and abroad. Kyle has a keen eye for aesthetics, costume design, and is a self-taught artist and illustrator working in a contemporary pop art style. His work has a quirky, naivety and theatricality that brings charm and comical personality to the ordinary. Kyle has largely focused on architectural themes, both interiors and exterior scenes breathing a new life into usual objects. Influenced by the old and new, with an appreciation for history, heritage, prints, pop culture, interior design, bright colors and fashion. Kyle continues to breathe these influences into his work.
